Who Is a Florida Resident?
First, you have to live here in the Sunshine State. Your driver’s license or State issued ID has to demonstrate a Florida residence or no price discount. But, there are 2 exceptions.
The first exception is for someone in the armed forces who is stationed here in Florida. The second is any college or university student enrolled in a Florida school. And of course, you have got to have the photo IDs to prove it.
May I Have Your Ticket Please?
You are able get your Disney World Florida Resident discount ticket from any of many sources — online, at a Disney resort, or at a Disney World theme park entrance. However, there’s one thing you must know prior to placing the order, or else you may be in for a surprise.
In each case, you have to get your Disney World Florida Resident discount tickets in person. You need to show photo ID in order to confirm your address. No way around this — you will be “carded”.
Stay and Play at a Walt Disney World Hotel
Here’s one thing a lot of Florida residents don’t realize; there are special Disney Florida Resident resort rates available! Now you are able to stay and play at Disney World — just park your vehicle once then forget about it for the rest of your stay at DIsney.
The discounts may be awesome, too. But there’s one trick to obtaining the discount — you have got to book pretty early. How early is early? To get a Florida special discount at one of the Disney hotels, check out booking your room a minimum of 4 months in advance. While last minute Florida Resident discount pricing may be had, do not count on them. (The last time I tried to book at the last minute, they had a deal for me; but even at 50% off, I still couldn’t manage $500 a night for a suite.)

You Live In Florida, Your Family Does Not
If you live here in the Sunshine State, you can’t purchase a Florida Resident’s discount ticket or book a Florida Resident special resort price for out-of-state family. Same goes for out-of-state friends. Sorry. Remember, they will have to produce photo ID to get the discount for their tickets or their resort room. And if that Identification doesn’t show Florida residency, they will have to shell out full price for the resort room.
