Viva Wyndham Maya Resort Review
We just returned from Playa del Carmen Mexico, where we spent 7 nights at the Viva Wyndham Maya Resort . We reserved the Wyndham Maya Family Resort with my Club Sea Breeze Vacation Club Membership for $399 for the week (7 nights/8 days) and NOT per person.
Review the Club Sea Breeze Product NOW!
Easy to book, the room had a max occupancy of 4, but there are only two of us. After we reserved our room, we called the resort to have a different style room and they are accommodating us with a king size bed. The rooms look great!
Below was our room.
The resort is all-inclusive, what a deal, not only all your food and beverages, including alcoholic beverages, but activities like sailing, water aerobics, kayaking, windsurfing, archery, bi-cycling, beach towels and lounge chairs and much more. See for yourself everything that is included at the Viva Wyndham Maya All Inclusive.
This is a view from our balcony. Looks over the private pool and bar for the owners and there was a lighted tennis court on the roof. When you stay at resorts booked through Club Sea Breeze, you are there and get treated as if you are the timeshare owner. Very Special! In fact, two days when we came back to our room we had a surprise in the room. A bottle of wine and fruit plate 1 day and the other day a bottle of champagne and a snack plate, very nice and only for owners. Did I mention the private party they had for only owners that included a Mexican buffet and live music for two hours.
There is a dive shop on site where we booked some dives including a day of diving in Cozumel, the water reminded me so much of Grand Cayman where I lived for 4 years. The corals and fish where great. Below are a few photos from Cozumel showing how perfect the water is. The middle photo is where we had lunch, right above the dive shop.
Overall everyone was very nice and always asking if there was something they could do for you. The food was bountiful and good, we had a total of 3 restaurants on the property and access to another 3 at the Viva Wyndham Azteca Resort nearby. Just another benefit of going as a member, we had access to the restaurants, bars and activities at this other resort.
You are probably asking, what did this really cost? Well here are the numbers:
$399 for the accommodations for 7 nights/8 days
$770 for the all inclusive ($385 per person)
$1169 TOTAL – There was NO TAX, NO GRATUITY
We used our Amex points for the airfare. $0
We were told that during low season the room and all inclusive cost would have been $1800 and you would not enjoy the extras members/owners get.
That is a difference of $631, more than the cost of the Club Sea Breeze Travel Club Membership.
Now in all fairness I must mention that the Wyndham has a Vacation Club also. The buy in is just shy of $35,000 plus $700 per year for 25 years. That gives you 20,000 points per year to use, if you do not use them for 2 consecutive years you lose one years worth. There is a bit more to it, but I do not know many people that have an extra $35k hanging around, especially in this economy. After all If you had $35k around you should be able to make 4% on it netting you about $1400 per year. More than I spent on this vacation.
But wait my vacation deal gets better! I went through their Vacation Club presentation and in return they gave me a FREE WEEK at one of their resorts, all I have to pay is the all-inclusive fee and I have 18 months to take advantage of it.. The rate for all-inclusive at Viva Wyndham Resorts is between $35 and $55 per person per day, depending on the resort.
Sooooo……… actually I got 2 weeks for a total of $1969 plus my airfare. That is less than a $1000 a week for 2 people at an all-inclusive 3-4 star resort.
We talked with many people staying there from different countries, and we only found 1 couple that had a really good deal. $1800 per person ($3600 total) for a 10day stay, it did include their airfare.
Bottom line Club Sea Breeze Product offers not only a great opportunity to travel at deeply discounted prices, but CASH-BACK on travel booked on your personal travel portal.
Below are some more pictures from out vacation. They include pictures of the Viva Wyndham Maya Resort, Tulum (Mayan Ruins), inside a Cenote, our extreme adventure and of some marine life you can see when scuba diving in Cozumel.
